Joanne "Jo" Rowling, OBE (born July 31, 1965), better known as JK Rowling (read / roʊlɪŋ / ROH-Ling) is a British writer best known as the creator of the Harry Potter fantasy, the idea that designed on a train from Manchester to London in 1990. The Harry Potter books have received international attention, won multiple awards, sold over 400 million copies and was the basis of a popular series of films in which Rowling had the approval of all scripts and to retain creative control by acting as a producer on the latter rate.

Rowling is perhaps as famous for his "rags to riches" life story, where she grew to live on welfare to multi-millionaire status within five years. In March 2011, when the latest list of world's billionaires published Forbes estimated Rowling's net worth to be U.S. $ 1 billion. In 2008, the Sunday Times Rich List estimated Rowling's fortune at £ 560 million (798 million U.S. dollars), its ranking as the twelfth richest woman in Britain. Forbes ranked Rowling as the 48th most powerful celebrity in 2007, Time magazine named her as a finalist for its 2007 Person of the Year, as the inspiration social, moral and political, she gave her fans. In October 2010 were JK Rowling named 'most influential woman in Britain "by the editors of leading magazine. It was a significant philanthropist, supporting charities such as Comic Relief, a company of multiple single-parent families in Britain, and Lumos (formerly the High Level Group for Children).
