Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff, MBE, (born December 6, 1977 Preston) is a former English cricketer who played for Lancashire County Cricket Club, England and the Chennai Super Kings Indian Premier League team. Long (6 '4 ") fast bowler, batsman and a defender slips, Flintoff ICC rankings have been consistently rated among the best international ALLROUNDER both ODI and Test cricket. His nickname" Freddie "or" Fred "comes from the similarity between her Your name, and Fred Flintstone.

Since its inception in 1998, Flintoff was a built-in player for England, and both captain and vice captain. But he injured regular throughout his international career, often because of its heavy frame and the action of bowling. Between 2007-09, he played in only 13 matches in England test 36, but still a key member of the England team, to be used whenever available. On July 15, 2009, he announced his retirement from Test cricket at the end of the 2009 Ashes series, August 24, but made himself available for future commitments in the One Day International and Twenty20 international matches.

It was reported Sept. 7, 2009 that Flintoff has developed a deep venous thrombosis after surgery for his knee.On 16th September 2010, he announced his retirement from all cricket.
