Dwight David Howard (born December 8, 1985) is an American basketball player for the Orlando Magic National Basketball Association (NBA). Howard, who usually plays center but can also play power forward, has been an excellent career high school in Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. He decided to forgo college and became the 2004 NBA Draft and was selected first overall by the review of Magic. All-Star five times, five-time All-NBA team selection, four-time All-Defensive member, and three-time Defensive Player of the Year, Howard has consistently ranked as one of the best league in rebounds, blocks, field goal percentage goal companies and free throw, and set numerous franchise and league records. He led the Magic to the three division titles and a conference title, and won the 2008 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. In 2008, the Olympics, Team USA starting center, who won the gold medal.

Before he was drafted in 2004, Howard said he wanted to use his NBA career and the Christian faith is "to add the name of God within the league and around the world." In November 2009 he was named one of 10 finalists for the Jefferson Award for public service, which rewards athletes for their charity work.
