Aamir Khan (Hindi: आमिर ख़ान, born Aamir Hussain Khan March 14, 1965 is an Indian actor, director and producer who has established himself as one of the main actors in Hindi cinema.

He began his career as a child actor with his uncle Nasir Hussain, the film Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Khan began his career with eleven years later, Holi (1984), and got his first commercial success with Qayamat Qayamat And Tak '(1988). He got his first National Film Award (Special Jury Prize) for his role in a movie raakh (1989). Previous Seven candidates during the 1980 and 1990, Khan won his first Filmfare Best Actor Award for his performance in Raja Hindustani in great gross (1996) and later received his second award as best actor for his performance in the candidate Oscar Lagaan, which also marked the debut of his own production company.

After four years of break from acting, Khan made a comeback in the title role in the historical Mangal Pandey: Rising (2005), and later won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for his role in Rang De Basanti (2006). The following year he made a debut with Taare Zameen Par, for which she received the Filmfare Best Director Award. This was followed in Ghajini (2008), which became the highest grossing film of each year, and 3 Idiots (2009), which became the highest grossing film of all time in Bollywood, adjusted to inflation. The Indian government honored him with the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan in 2003 for 2010 contributions to the arts.
