Fernando José Torres Sanz (Spanish pronunciation: [Fernando Tores], born March 20, 1984), nicknamed El Niño (Kid in Spanish), is a Spanish footballer who plays for Chelsea and the Spanish national team, as the attacker.

Torres started his career at Atletico Madrid, progressing through their youth system for the first team. He made his first team debut in 2001 and ended his career as a club to 75 goals were placed in 174 La Liga appearances. Before the debut of the Premier League, Torres has had two seasons in the Segunda Division, when 40 appearances and scoring seven goals.
