Novak Djokovic (Serbia Новак Ђоковић, Novak Djokovic pronounced [k ː ː nɔʋa dʑɔ kɔʋitɕ] (born May 22, 1987) is a Serbian professional tennis player who is 4 July 2011, ranked No. 1 by the World Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). He has won three Grand Slam titles in 2008 and 2011 Australian Open Championship and the 2011 Wimbledon Championships, becoming the first player representing Serbia to win a Grand Slam title in singles and the younger player in the open era to have reached the semifinals of the four Grand Slam tournaments, separately and successively.

He is one of only four players (David Nalbandian, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal are the other three) to beat Roger Federer three times during the calendar year. He is also one of four players (Nalbandian, Murray and Nikolay Davydenko is the other) to beat Federer and Nadal in the same tournament twice, in the implementation of the company, when he won the 2011 Indian Wells Masters 1000 event. He is the youngest player in the Open Era to win the top three players in succession, and has achieved this as he has defeated the world number three Andy Roddick, world number two Nadal and Federer, world number one in the 2007 Rogers Cup . And 'one of only two players have defeated Federer in the semi-final stage, or later, more than once in the Grand Slam tournaments, as well as consecutive tournament wins (the second is a Nadal).

Djokovic was the runner-up in 2007 and 2010 tournaments, U.S. Open (Federer and Nadal, respectively) and bronze medal representing Serbia at the Olympics in 2008. In addition, Djokovic won the Tennis Masters Cup in 2008 and has won nine Masters Series tournaments. In 2010, he led Serbia to win the Davis Cup. Djokovic ended the ATP World Tour and not three for four consecutive years between 2007 and 2010.

The Davis Cup final in 2010 French Open in 2011, Djokovic has a streak of 43 consecutive victories, the third after Guillermo Vilas (46 games in 1977) and Ivan Lendl (44 games in 1981/1982). This includes the titles in the Australia Open, Dubai, Indian Wells Masters, Miami Masters, Serbia Open, Madrid Masters and the Rome Masters. He has won 41 consecutive games since the beginning of 2011 until the French Open semi-final (where he was defeated by Roger Federer), the second to record John McEnroe (42-0 beginning in 1984).

It is considered the best male tennis player to come out of Serbia, former Yugoslavia and the Balkans. Djokovic is also a double winner of the best sports person of Serbia and the Best Sports of the Olympic Committee of Serbia. He was awarded the Order of St. Sava, the highest decoration of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
