David Ferrer Ern (born April 2, 1982 in Xabia, Alicante, Spain) is a Spanish tennis player who lives in Valencia, Spain, currently ranked number 6 in the ATP and the second-highest ranked Spaniard behind World No. 2 Rafael Nadal . He turned professional in 2000. Ferrer, known as a clay court specialist, even if it was successful for the clay courts and, as evidenced by his semi-final appearances in the 2007 U.S. Open and Australian Open 2011. He was part of the Spanish Davis Cup team, who won the final in 2008 and 2009. It 'was also a finalist at the Masters Cup Tennis in 2007.He has been achieved top-10 in 2006 and reached a career high No. 4 place
